This year’s
Garden State Cat Show & Expo-New Jersey & New York’s Biggest Cat Show/Expo will be held July 21-22 at the New Jersey Convention & Exposition Center in Edison, New Jersey. For those unfamiliar with the Garden State Cat Show & Expo-New Jersey & New York's Biggest Cat Show/Expo, this weekend-long event is one that animal lovers look forward to every year. Pet owners have the opportunity to enter their feline friends in the Household Pet Competition and/or the Feline Agility Competition for a chance to win prizes. The breed showcase is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. and 1:45 p.m. on Saturday, as well as 12:00 p.m. and 2:15 p.m. on Sunday. The agility competition is an ongoing event that will see cats of all shapes and sizes navigating a series of challenging obstacles. Attendees will be able to take advantage of several fun and educational offerings at this year’s show:

Ask the Vet Booth- Four local veterinarians (Deborah Breitstein, Dr. Isabel Perez, Dr. Wendy Sweeney, and Dr. Mary Kwacz) have volunteered their time to answer any questions pet owners may have about animal care.

Caricaturist- Local caricaturist Steve Nyman will be available to create drawings of attendees and their pets (either in person or from a photo).

Adopt-a-Cat- Rescue cats will be up for adoption.

Emergency Preparedness- Somerset County Animal Response Team will be distributing information about preparing pets in the event of an emergency.

CPR for Cats and Dogs- Steve Ross from First Aid & CPR, LLC will be demonstrating how to perform pet CPR, answering questions about pet First Aid, and providing valuable handouts.
Additionally, the show will have a prize raffle, 50/50 cash drawing, face painting booth, stuffed animal workshop, cat selfie setup, and more, making it a great event for families.
